Testimonials

Since we started releasing episodes of our podcast in the summer of 2014, we've gotten some wonderful emails from our listeners. We received permission to share these testimonials here, and we're grateful to everyone who has written to us. (To add your own testimonial, use the Contact Us form to send us an email. We love hearing your suggestions for episode topics, too!)

Hi Tina and Sarah,

I just wanted to let you know that your podcast is absolutely amazing and wonderfully engaging! I have just graduated from university with a degree in art history and have been really nostalgic about my professors and their lectures...but fortunately I found your podcast, which allows me to continue learning more about art and art history! Your podcast is so educational and inspiring that I am now considering pursuing a masters. [...]

Once again, thank you so much for your podcast. It is fun, professional, educational and is an absolute joy to listen to!

Having discovered...

your podcasts a few months ago as I started studying Art History online with Oxford, I can't tell you how fascinating they are! You have an amazing ability to weave Art and the world we live in, making it fresh and riveting. Thank you!

DEAR TINA AND SARAH,

I recently discovered your podcast and have since flown through every episode. I had tended towards reality TV inspired podcasts [...] However, there was something missing. I wasn't being challenged, I was merely being entertained in the way that you don't even have to actually listen during the daily commute. Then I couldn't find the right books to read or movies to watch. I hit an actual lull in my life.

All of that being said, I work in a contemporary art gallery in sales so I do see keeping up with studies in my free time as being a part of my job. Though I was a history major during my undergrad, I was finding delving into art history and further art education to be daunting. I didn't know where to start, found the classes on iTunes U to be dull and either too rudimentary or too advanced with very little middle ground...

When I discovered your podcast all of that fear of where to begin subsided. You provide scholarly conversations while being entertaining and giving me a jumping off point in my day to day of where my interests lie. If a success story can come from a podcast--This is it! You have given my career a much needed refresh and injection of interest. My only problem now lies in how I cannot stop thinking about grad school because I am not getting enough!

Tina and Sarah,

I recently discovered your podcast and I absolutely love it--so much, that I listed to all the episodes in one week! I studied art history and really appreciate the way each episode builds on information I was already familiar with or introduces me to completely new topics and ideas.

Thanks for producing such a great podcast and reminding me why I love art and hope to pursue graduate studies in art history in the near future.

Ladies,

I just found your pod cast a few weeks ago and that is all I listen to now. Bringing art history to the masses is a noble quest!
Bravo!

THANK YOU FOR...

...your smart, funny and wonderful podcast. I have had very long days commuting to the studio and have been listening while walking to the train. I've only heard a few thus far--I intend to listen to them all--and have especially enjoyed the Parthenon Marbles and MTA episodes. Thank you for putting this generous project out there.

I JUST WANTED TO POP IN...

...and say thank you so much for your podcast. I am an MFA student in California and can't tell you how much I appreciate and enjoy listening to your show; worlds away from the stuffy National Gallery podcast. It truly is the highlight of my week (or month depending on the frequency of posts).

The lively discussion and integration of both historical and contemporary art into contemporary life is such a pleasure. [...] In any case, I just want more podcasts!
Thank you!!!!!!!

HEY THERE!!!

Thanks for the podcasts; I just found them this month and I'm already up to date. I've been using them to help me focus when I'm doing assay development for new cancer diagnostics and its been working really well!

DEAR TINA AND SARAH,

I recently discovered your Podcasts and I'm hooked! [...] In the late afternoons, I leave my home office for a long walk and listen to your talks. [...] It must take a lot of time and effort to prepare the Podcasts. I wish you all the best as you pursue your career paths in art history, but I hope that you will continue to produce the discussions. In the meantime, I will cycle through each of the existing episodes and continue to listen, learn, and relate current events to art history. [...] [The episodes] are so interesting, engaging, and relevant. You have a tremendous wealth of relevant and informational discussions to pursue! Please keep up with the Podcasts. With your friendship and love of the arts, you have established a winning rapport that resonates with your listeners.

I WANTED TO WRITE TO SAY...

...how much I love your podcast. I recently discovered it and have become totally addicted. I'm on my second listen-through already! It is wonderfully refreshing to find a podcast that is so rich with depth and knowledge and presented by such well-spoken, intelligent, engaging people. I love the scholarly discourse and ideas, and the balanced and respectful debates. And thank you for making your topics understandable to those of us who appreciate scholarly discourse but aren't specialists in art history -- I recently earned my MA in literature (thanks for some of those crossover moments on your episodes, by the way!), so I appreciate the academic conversation while also still being able to grasp topics that are new to me. I can tell that you are both the rare kind of teacher who can truly engage your students. Indeed, listening to your podcast is like being back in those great classes in grad school, but this time for art history and minus the overwork, paper writing, and imposter syndrome. In other words, this is one hundred percent fun!

JUST A BRIEF NOTE...

...to tell you how much I enjoy your podcast. Exceptionally articulate, erudite, and engaging, every episode is a joy.

I do not have a background in Art History, so I appreciate the context you provide for the works.

I listen to your show when I'm gardening and as a teacher of writing, a columnist, and a floral designer, I sink into your language, imagining the artworks in my mind.
